Be Ruthless

  • Eliminate rather than relocate – Sifting/sorting as you go will save you time, space, packing, moving cost
  • One man’s junk is another man’s treasure – If you haven’t used it in 12 months: sell it or donate it or dump it
  • Remember local charities or school fetes – Maybe you can even itemize, get a receipt & claim a tax deduction
  • We or “the kids” Might Need It Someday! – You don’t really need full cupboards, a spare room of “maybe” items or a garden shed with a ride-on mower for a small block or apartment.  If it isn’t a collector item or heirloom, if it doesn’t fit or it’s no longer used, the kids will buy their own items in their own taste and time and will be thankful you didn’t lump it on to them
  • When there is heaps left to dump – Hire a skip of required size to make the job easier & for yard cleanups
